FAQ

Tabby cat happy cuddling in pet sitter lap.

What breeds of dogs do you board in your home?

I only board small breed dogs. This provides extra safety for each pet guest and my cats.

Cats you say? How do your cats get along with your pet guests?

My cats have been around small breed dogs since they were kittens and will happily interact with dogs during their stay. I joke that my cat Nermal is my concierge as he greets each guest and likes to partake in my free meet and greets. If you follow me on social media you will see a lot of videos and pictures of them playing and cuddling with dogs!

Free meet and greets, what’s that?

I require a free meet and greet for every pet in my care, both to board it in my home or do visits in your home. This lets us see if your pet, you, and myself are a match. Most importantly the pets can get to know me before they are left in my care.

This all sounds great, but what about cost?

Pricing is not as simple as it may seem. Boarding pricing varies on many things such as energy level, special needs, medications, time of year, holidays, and other factors as well. In home visit pricing includes those same factors plus travel distance. I offer custom quotes for each potential pet care stay or visit. To secure one of my limited spots, I require a nonrefundable deposit.

What’s the value of using you for boarding?

I do this full time and offer the best and most personalized pet care in the industry. I am fully insured and the pets are living with me in my home during their stay. Think of my in-home boarding service as your pet’s vacation home. They are loved and cared for just like they were my own. I offer limited spots to insure each pet is given the love and attention they deserve. My prices reflect this, and the value and piece of mind I offer is above and beyond what you would find elsewhere.

Tell me about where the pets are staying.

I own my own duplex at the end of a dead end street with a large fenced in yard. Pets are given free roam of my downstairs common area that consists of my living room and kitchen. All dogs are walked on a leash in my fenced in back yard per my insurance and their safety. I have multiple rooms upstairs and pets can be given there own space if needed. They usually sleep in the same room as me either on a large luxury pet bed or in my bed with me. Sleeping arrangements and other details are based on what they, you, and myself are comfortable with.

What should I bring for my pets stay?

I require you to bring your dogs leash/harness and their daily food for the extent of their stay. Optional things to bring are dog beds, blankets, and a favorite toy. It is a huge help to both me and your pet if you can write up their daily routine. You can you never give me to much direction I want them to be as comfortable as possible.

You mentioned you carry insurance. Please tell me more!

I carry private pet care insurance to give both my clients and myself piece of mind. This is unfortunately not an industry standard, but something I deem is important.

Are you with the pets 24/7?

I am a self described home body, and this is my full time job. I am with my pet guests for the vast majority of their stays. I go out for in home visits for other clients, appointments, errands, or from time to time will go out for dinner or a movie. Pets are comfortably secured while I am out and are monitored via smart cameras on my phone.

Can other people access the cameras?

No, I am the only one with access, which preserves my right to privacy in my home. However, I send multiple daily updates with photos and videos so you can see how much your pet is enjoying their stay.

Your site says you board small caged or tanked animal. How do you do this?

Caged or tanked animals are given their own room upstairs and are frequently checked on. You must provide your pets living environment for me to set up in my home. I do not offer live feeding.

Tell me more about your in home visits.

I offer this for small breed dogs and other types of animals. This is how I offer care for most clients with cats and all other pets that can’t be boarded. All in home visits are required to have a free meet and greet in your home. Visits are usually 30 minutes and are charged per visit.

My pet has health care needs are you able to accommodate?

I have years of experience giving pets medication on a schedule. I am able to give oral medication, insulin, IVs, eye drops, and ointments. I have plenty of experience dealing with senior and disabled pets.
